Gift of Dance Policies and Procedures

1. Registration and Enrolment:

  • New students can register either online or in person at our studio office.

  • Enrolment is open year-round, but some classes may have limited availability.

  • All students must submit a registration form and sign a liability waiver before attending classes.

  • Tuition fees are due monthly and can be paid online, in person, or via bank transfer.

2. Class Schedule:

  • Our class schedule offers a variety of dance styles including freestyle, Latin, Ballroom, jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary.

  • Classes are held on weekdays in the evenings and on Saturday mornings.

  • Any changes to the schedule will be communicated via email and posted on our website.

3. Attendance and Punctuality:

  • Students are expected to arrive on time for classes to ensure a productive learning environment.

  • If a student is going to be absent, parents/guardians should notify the studio in advance.

4. Dress Code:

  • Each dance style has its own dress code, which is outlined in our studio handbook.

  • Proper dance attire and footwear must be worn in class.

  • Hair should be neatly secured away from the face.

5. Behaviour and Discipline:

  • Respect for instructors, fellow dancers, and studio property is paramount.

  • Any disruptive behaviour will result in a verbal warning, followed by possible dismissal from the class if the behaviour persists.

6. Parent/Guardian Involvement:

  • We encourage parents/guardians to observe their child's progress during designated observation weeks.

  • Our studio hosts regular parent meetings to discuss upcoming events and address any concerns.

7. Health and Safety:

  • Our studio always maintains a clean and sanitized environment.

  • Students are required to follow COVID-19 protocols, including wearing masks and practicing social distancing.

  • In case of injury, our staff is trained in first aid and emergency procedures.

8. Studio Facilities:

  • Students are responsible for the care of studio equipment and facilities.

  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the dance studios to prevent spills and maintain cleanliness.

9. Communication:

  • We communicate important updates and announcements through email, our studio newsletter, and social media channels.

  • Parents/guardians can contact our office during business hours for any inquiries or concerns.

10. Privacy and Confidentiality:

  • Student information is kept confidential and will not be shared without consent.

  • Photos or videos of students may be used for promotional purposes with parental/guardian consent.

11. Performance and Recitals:

  • Students could participate in our annual recital, which showcases their progress throughout the year.

  • Costume fittings and rehearsal schedules will be provided well in advance of the recital date.

12. Refund and Withdrawal Policies:

  • Refunds will be issued for classes cancelled by the studio or in cases of prolonged illness or injury with proper documentation.

  • To withdraw from classes, parents/guardians must notify the studio office in writing at least 30 days before the next billing cycle.

13. Code of Conduct and Ethics:

  • Our studio values integrity, respect, and teamwork among students and staff.

  • Any concerns regarding conduct or ethics should be reported to the studio director for prompt resolution.

14. Professional Development:

Our instructors participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current in their teaching methods and dance techniques.
